Part I - About The LSAT - LSAC.org
What - The LSAT (Law School Admission Test) is a multiple-choice
standardized (everybody gets the same questions) test. It is
required by virtually every law school in North America. A sample
LSAT may be downloaded at www.lsac.org
When - The LSAT is administered four times a year on most
university campuses.
How Much - The fee to take the LSAT varies from year to year.
Registration Deadline - One must register to take the LSAT and
there is a deadline for registration.
More Information - All information about the LSAT may be found at
www.LSAC.org
The Case For The June LSAT
Assuming you are able to plan ahead, we recommend that you take
the LSAT in June and that you take it the first June that you are
free. The reasons are:
1. You can prep in May where there are fewer conflicts with other
academic commitments.
2. It leaves you with October as a "back up" (should you need
it). October is better than December because in September you
will have fewer academic commitments.
3. Why the first June you are free? There is no reason to leave
the LSAT until the June immediately prior to the fall application
deadline. If you are free this May - get the LSAT out of the way! Back to the top Part II - About The Law School Application Process
The complete law school admissions process is time consuming and
complex. In order to get you pointed in the right direction you
need to know that for:
Ontario Law School Applications - The deadline date is November
1. Applications may be obtained by calling the Ontario Law School
Application Centre at: (519) 823-1940 Ext. 558
Other Canadian Law Schools - They have different deadline dates.
You must communicate with them directly. Links to each of them
are available from the Law Services site at www.lsac.org.
U.S. Law Schools - They have different deadline dates. You must
communicate with them directly. Links to each of them are
available at www.lsac.org.

Part IV - About WeekendPrep.com - 25 Years Of Results
About WeekendPrep.com -
WeekendPrep.com is the One Weekend LSAT course division of
prep.com. Our courses have been developed by John Richardson,
B.A., LL.B., J.D. As such they have been available since 1979.
John Richardson is the author of:
He has both Canadian and American law degrees and is a member of
the bars of Ontario, New York and Massachusetts.
Twenty-five years ago, we pioneered the concept of Weekend LSAT
Preparation. We continue to do so today.
What Our Course Teaches - The Approach
Our course teaches approach. We teach systematic ways of
eliminating wrong answers. We teach the identification of right
answers.
The LSAT is not a test of background knowledge. Rather, it is a
test of reading and reasoning. The LSAT is administered four
times a year (usually in October, December, February and June).
It is important that a score on say the June test has the same
meaning as a score on the October test. To achieve consistency,
every edition of the LSAT must measure the same things in
approximately the same ways. As a result, LSAT questions are the
"end product" of specific rules of design.
Our course exploits this design requirement. We teach specific
principles of approach that will allow you to "identify" the
answers to LSAT multiple choice questions. These principles
INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
How Our Course Is Organized - Maximum Efficiency
Obviously the course varies from instructor to instructor. But, a
typical course would be organized as follows:
Saturday
9:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. - Introductory issues concerning the LSAT
Sunday
9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - Analytical Reasoning II
3:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - During the Sunday afternoon slot,
participants will be able to choose between either of:
A. Practice LSAT Administration using a real LSAT; or
Please note that in addition to the lunch break, there will be a
15 minute break in the morning and in the afternoon.
Your Course Materials - Real LSAT Exams To Keep
Our courses are taught using real LSAT exams. In fact, every
participant will receive the book of 10 More Actual LSAT exams
published by LSAT. (For a description of this book visit the Law
Services web site at www.lsac.org). In addition, participants
will receive other assorted internally generated course
materials.
Our Teachers - Taught By Lawyers NOT By Students
Most LSAT courses are taught by students. Not so with
WeekendPrep.com. Our teachers are lawyers who have taken the
LSAT, been through the complete law admissions process, been
through law school and the bar admissions process. Many of our
teachers have taught our course for years.
In addition to the finest quality of LSAT instruction, you will
receive valuable perspectives on the admission process and career
counseling from the perspective of lawyers.
Pre-Course PREP - "Mastering The LSAT" by John Richardson
There is no requirement that you do any preparation prior to
attending our course. Nevertheless, you will get maximum benefit
from the course if you familiarize yourselves with the question
types in advance. For this purpose, we recommend the LSAT
Registration Book from Law Services. It is free and available
from any law school. Alternatively, you may download a sample
LSAT from the Law Services site at www.lsac.org.
In addition, we recommend - "Mastering The LSAT - The Only
Canadian LSAT PREP Guide" by a course designer - John Richardson,
B.A., LL.B., J.D. It is available in Chapters and most university
bookstores.
